Mammoth Resort Update!

Who and the heavens has the gonads to jump over lift lines? This photo could be one of my favorites of the year. Maybe it's because of the artsy backdrop. Or, it could be because it's a sick trick over a huge kicker.
Have you ever wanted to session a kicker after the resort is closed? (Everyone please say yes.) Well, I was up in Mammoth this past weekend and got to help give snowmobile shuttle express rides to Gabe Taylor and Pete Benchetler, all for our Mammoth-sized photo/video shoot .

Right after the resort closed, the park crew got to grooming the 75 foot kicker to perfection. We started shuttling Pete and Gabe to the top of the drop in on four different sleds. As I was zooming up and down the hill, I witnessed some pretty rad aerial maneuvers go down. A frontside 9, couple of backside 7's, a Cab 7 and some really smooth switch and regular frontside 3's.
Once the sun went down, the huckage continued. Our riders blinged out some super stylish backside 180 Japan grabs and some super smooth frontside 3's. Oh, and all this was going down while I got to rally through the Forest Trail run on the snowmobiles. If you've ever ridden Mammoth and know the small park next to the main park, that's was my little snowmobile run. Yeah, those small little jumps are super fun on a snowboard and snowmobile. I think I did a one hander - ha!
