Team Report 2-12-07
February Team update.
What’s really going on?
Global warming is in full effect, but that's not going to stop team ThirtyTwo. Here’s a quick glance at what our riders have been up to.
Fredrik Austbo has been getting back into the swing of competing and snowboarding everyday after his injury. He recently competed in the O'Neill Pro-Freestyle event in Avoriaz, France (February 3, 2007). Placing seventh in the quarter pipe event. He said his knee is feeling super solid and he’s stoked to get his shred on. Freddy will be heading out to the states to start filming with the Standard Films crew and hopes to spend most of his season traveling all over North America.
Dustin Craven has been on a mission ever since the season started. He’s been on the road filming with the Capita crew, hitting up spots all over Calgary and the interior British Columbia area. Who knows where he’ll end up within the next several days. Maybe in your neck of the woods.
John Jackson headed straight to Whistler after the X Games to get back to filming and shooting photos. He’ll be heading to the "secret spot" some time this week to explore and continue filming, then off to the interior Bristish Columbia region to shred some heli board sessions.
Markku Koski was feeling great and doing well at the X Games, but during his first run of the qualifying round, his binding completely blew out, causing him to slam into his second wall hit of the pipe. It was pretty unexpected but Markku took it like a champ. He said he suffered a charley horse to his upper leg but that couldn’t stop him. He had the binding strap replaced and went straight up to the top of the pipe. After taking his second run he missed the final by a few points. Better luck next time Markku. Shortly after the X Games, Markku and Stian Solberg ventured out to Southern Colorado to film for the Stepchild team video and shoot photos. They managed to get in a few good days of hiking and building kickers. Be sure to check out the video teaser at: www.stepchildsnowboards.com

On a mission! Tyler Lepore has been busy filming with the Capita crew. You can peep the video teaser at www.capitasnowboards.com Tyler will be heading to legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom competition this weekend. Speaking of being on a mission, Tyler and a few others will be making their way to an exclusive area sometime in the near future to do very exclusive things, that we can't mention at this time. But it could involve snow and the alignment of the stars. More info to come as their plans come together.
The injured list-
Janna Meyen reported two torn ligaments in her ankle and a badly bruised bone. While practicing her switch 900’s at Keystone Ski Resort, Janna's back foot took the brunt of a flat landing causing an uncomfortable pain which led to her absence from X Games. She has been really positive about the situation and will be concentrating on physical therapy for the next few months. Good luck Janna! Keep up the PMA!
Hamp-man or shall I say Hampus Mosesson gave it his all during the eleventh winter X Games. He didn’t quite make the podium, but he definitely showed the world he was capable of handling any kind of obstacle. He’s back in Salt Lake City, Utah planning to head to Tahoe or Canada where he’ll be filming with Mack Dawg.
Multi-Tasker Leanne Pelosi is keeping herself quite busy these days. After placing sixth in the women’s X Games slope style, she bounced back to Whistler where she went right into filming and shooting photos for her film project, Runway Films. Later this weekend she’ll be heading to the legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom in Wahington. Be sure to check out her video teaser at: www.runwayfilms.com
Benji Ritchie will continue to film with Whiteout Films this season. He’s been on the road filming and shooting photos between Whistler and the interior British Columbia region. He’s on his way to Mt. Baker where he’ll challenge the roster of shredders, hoping to knock out some of the big time players.
Back to the states-
Stian Solberg made it back to California not too long ago where he purchased a brand new truck (Nissan Titan) and drove straight out to Utah to pick up his brothers sled. He met up with Markku Koski in Aspen, and shortly after the X Games, drove to southern Colorado to start filming and shooting photos. He’s back in Utah at the moment waiting for news on the latest conditions. Be sure to check out www.stepchildsnowboards.com for the Stepchild video teaser.

The Great North West is where Wille Yli-Luoma can be found. Wille’s been back and forth from Mt. Baker to Portland clocking in some mileage. He’ll be headed to Mt. Baker for the banked slalom along with the rest of the North West crews. He’s been working on getting his work visa renewed so he’ll be heading up to Canada some time next week to meet with officials there. It’s also Wille’s birthday Friday February ninth, Happy Birthday Wille!
That’s it for now. Till next time,
Pray for SNOW!
