Team Report 12-04-06
Snow’s falling, so dust off your shred sticks and get ready to make some turns. Here’s a little update on what the ThirtyTwo team riders are up to.

Eric Jackson recently got back from Europe, where he was seen striking some poses for the Quiksilver photo shoot. He’s off to Mt. Baker this week to shred some powder since the Northwest has been getting pounded. Eric will be on a mission this season to film heavily with Standard Films.
John Jackson recently joined the Rossignol snow team and is currently in Europe right now attending their photo shoot. John’s plan for the season is to slaughter the backcountry and attend a handful of contests like the Winter X Games and the Honda Sessions. John will also continue to film with Standard Films.
Along with the rest of the Canadians, Tyler Lepore is enjoying the nice, early season. Fortunately, Mother Nature’s been kind enough to bless the North with cold enough conditions to cover the city of Vancouver with over 18 inches of snow. Tyler will be concentrating on filming with the Capita crew on a team video this season, so be sure to look for more info on that in the near future.
Janna Meyen is pretty much ready to take on the world. She’s stoked to charge this season with everything she’s got! Janna plans on competing in some of the major competitions this season like the Winter X Games and the U.S. Open. She just got a new snowmobile, so she’s out in the backcountry breaking it in.
Leanne Pelosi has been charging rails in Vancouver. She’s been on a mission this season, trying to get an early start on filming and shooting photos.
Benji Ritchie is in Europe right now with Rossignol on a catalog photo shoot. He will continue to film with White Out this season and dominate the backcountry.
Wille Yli-Luoma charged up to Mt. Baker to catch the early dumping. He will be filming with Mack Dawg this season and working on some of his own ideas with them, so be on the lookout.

Hampus Mosesson has been traveling quite a bit! He was recently spotted in Chamonix, France and Sölden, Austria, where, on a $200 dare, he jumped into a pool (while wearing full-on snowboard gear) straight from the catwalk of the Quiksilver fashion show. Now our Swedish Snus* addict and womanizer is warming up in Austria before heading to Munich on Wednesday to defend his title at the Air & Style at Munich’s Olympic Stadium. After that, Hampus might go to Japan for the Nissan X Trial, where he is still on the riders’ standby list. His next big trip will lead him to China, where he is invited to a contest at the beginning of January!
* Snus (pronounced “snooseâ€) is manufactured and mainly consumed in Sweden and Norway. It’s basically a package filled with tobacco that you squeeze under your lip for a full nicotine kick. I must say it’s not really attractive, but the Swedes and Norwegians love it.

Markku Koski started the new season fully motivated. He has a new board sponsor, Stepchild, and is already traveling around Europe searching for snow. After a trip to Saas Fee, where he did a FIS World Cup and won the qualification, he is now back in Finland and heading to Ruka to ride, have fun and warm up for the Nissan X Trial in Japan on December 9-10.

After a trip to Stockholm to do the Winter Jam Big Air contest and enjoy the Swedish party night life, Stian Solberg is now back in Bergen, Norway, waiting for the rain to stop and to finally enjoy some snow. He will stay in Norway for Christmas and New Year’s and then head over to the U.S. to start filming and shooting.
Freddy Austbo is in Norway, chilling, riding and having fun back home. He is also waiting for the big snowfall!
Since Europe is not too blessed with heavy snowfall so far, Thomas Harstad is searching for snow with his buddies in the States and enjoying the waist-deep powder.
Jussi Tarvainen is in Finland, concentrating on the rehab of his knee. He says it’s healing slowly but steadily.
Our Spanish lady shred dawg Cuca Aranda is finanlly back in Europe after seven months in Australia, and just started studying medicine. But, nevertheless, she is already working on her plans for this season, which include organizing a Girls Snowboard Camp in Huesca, Spain, and riding as much powder as possible.
Our Slovenian ThirtyTwo team rider Matevz Pristavec just won the Ballantine’s Urban Freestyle contest in Barcelona, Spain. Congratulations, Matevz!

Andreas Moen from Norway is getting ready for his trip to Mammoth and preparing for the season there. In January, he will compete at the European Open in Laax, Austria and then start filming with the Pirate Crew again. Check out his part in Lubedence. Andreas also just got the cover of Speed Snowboard magazine in China.
French ThirtyTwo team rider Remi Lamazouere is snowboarding in Val D’Isere at the moment, doing a photo shoot and getting ready for some real snow. He just got the cover of the French Snow magazine. A month full of cover shots for our team riders…how nice is that?
