ThirtyTwo Boots Are PVC-Free!

Here at ThirtyTwo, we are committed to producing the lightest snowboard boots possible, as well as the most environmentally safe products. After all, global warming equals less snow! Polyvinyl Chloride, or PVC, is a widely used plastic that is extremely toxic to the environment because it contains lead, cadmium and phthalates. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our production methods to use less harmful materials and produce less waste. So, you can sleep tight at night knowing that all ThirtyTwo boots are PVC-free.

very proud of thirty two for taking mother earth into consideration, PEACE & LOVE.
This is only a start. We plan to do much more in the near future.
SAVE OUR SNOW!
Hmm Since when is PVC so “extremeley toxic”? PVC is the same material that many of you’r water supply pipes are made of in modern homes and about 90% of all PVC pipes are used for drainage and for protecting/containing cables in buildings. Not to mention that almost all water mains are being changed over from clay and iron pipes that not only leak but rust to non other than PVC.

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I’m a graduate student who has a love for environmentally friendly design. I’ve heard that your company is making a move to integrate eco-friendly items into your line and wanted to talk to somebody who would know more about this movement. I think this is a great idea! Having a young customer base, you have the power to impact and persuade a generation to be more aware of our mother earth. I’ve searched your web site and found very little in terms of your eco-friendly movements.
I would like to have the contact to someone who knows more about these issues, and could talk to me and educate me about anything and everything you are doing to be a part of this movement.
I can be contacted through this e-mail or by cell phone. Hope to hear from you soon!

Poly vinyl chloride is “toxic” to the environment in its production, when the chemicals are being added combined to form the compound. When these compounds react they release harmful gases into the air. Just read the “Health and safety” section of the wikipedia article you thoughtfully provided.
“According to some medical studies, the plasticizers added to PVC may cause chronic conditions such as scleroderma, cholangiocarcinoma, angiosarcoma, brain cancer, and acrosteolysis.” –Wikipedia
DONT LET THIS COMPANY RIP YOU OFF
yeah, I will be reporting 32 to the BBB. They won’t honor their warranty.
This is only one of many positive steps, snowboarding relating companies need to make. These companies should be making boots, etc. in the USA to reduce greenhouse gas emissions due to the fossill fuel usage to ship these products from China. The greenest snowboard company around is Venture Snowboards. Hope to see more greener choices(recycled content, non-toxic dyes, etc. from 32!
Want to know about snowboarding produce and events :) .I came across a very good site for that ….please visit
That’s great news. I love snow and I hate PVC! There’s nothing in this world worse than Polyvinyl Chloride. In all seriousness though, I am glad that you guys are taking the environment into consideration, because really, we all love to shred with Mother Nature anyways. Go Mo’ Nature!
