Brrr! ThirtyTwo Gets Chile! Nightlife
Most of the nights in Chile start in the upstairs bar of El Colorado resort. Happy hour consists of buy one, get one free for two dollars. You can't go wrong with that price, and sorry to all you underage kids, but the drinking age in Chile is 18 years old. Ha-ha! So, everything you see in these photos is perfectly legal.
After many beers and checking out the local talent, you either get invited to dinner or to someone's house party, which usually ends up at the local discoteque in La Parva. That place is a little creepy, but super fun.
If neither of those two things happen, you just might end up in a Chile-style hot tub that is made of wood and looks like a huge barrel cut in half. Ironically, you have to put wood in it every couple of hours, just like a fireplace. It takes about seven hours to get the tub nice and hot.
If you stay at a place like we did, they also have a chef that cooks dinner. On this night, we had barbecue with pork, ribs, steak and sausage mixed with a little pisco, which is the local alcohol of Chile. It's kind of like rum and Coke, but they call it pisco and Coke or a pisco sour, which reminds me of a margarita. Either way, after you drink it, by the end of the night, you're feeling rather fine, but the next morning, you're seriously hurting! Make sure you try it next time you're in Chile.
Next, it's off to the local bar or disco, which normally doesn't start going until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m., and ends around 6:00 a.m. We finished our night off back at the house, where a freestyle rap battle ensued with E. Jack ripping the A-frame mic. Then it was time for beddy-bye. Word!
