Brrr! ThirtyTwo Gets Chile! Day 1

Do you ever dream of powder in the Summer? That dream can come true...if you live the life of a ThirtyTwo pro shredder like John Jackson, Eric Jackson, Benji Rictie and Stian Solberg. We've been working really hard lately on some new boots for the 2007-2008 season, and we figured what better place to go to test them than Chile?

Remember, Chile is in South America, where it's Winter right now, 30 degrees and snowing! On August 14, we stayed at a resort called Valle Nevado. It was sunny and nice, about 50 degrees, but it hadn't snowed in four days, so the snow was so-so. The roads to the mountains down here are seriously crazy. They are only wide enough for one car, but there are people blazing up and down anyway. It's pretty nuts!

On weekends and holidays, there are resricted times for when you can drive up or down. Also, there are about 100 hairpin switchbacks, which make these the scariest roads I've ever driven, by far.
We're working on a ThirtyTwo promo video about this trip and what went down, as well as a catalog shoot, so look out for that. Check out the photos for all the fun! More updates coming soon.--Brian Cook
