One of My Best Trips Ever!
I just got home from one of my best trips ever. Mads Jonsson, Erik Botner and I left Oslo last Tuesday--our car packed with surfboards, skateboards, snowboards, fishing gear, tents and booze--and drove all the way to the West coast of Norway, which is a good nine-hour drive. Our mission was to attend the Burton Summer contest and to enjoy a couple of days of camping at the surf spot there before the contest started.
We got some really good offshore head-high perfect waves, with just the three of us in the water. It was sick! The surf contest started on Thursday, the skate contest went down on Friday, followed by the snowboarding contest on Saturday. It was a really good event, plus a week of doing all the stuff we like to do the most: surf, skate, snowboard and party!
Mikkel Bang won the snow contest and got a brand-new 250cc quad bike. That guy! I got 2nd and won a super-nice longboard. Stoked! Mads got 3rd and also got a longboard. We will cruise our longboards for the rest of the Summer and hang five, hippie steez. Yeah, right! If there's one place you all should visit, it's the West Coast of Norway! Peace out!--Thomas Harstad
