We'd like to congratulate ThirtyTwo Japan rider Takashi Tokita for winning the 2006 Toshiba Slopestyle contest on March 12.

Starting out in 3rd place in the Japanese rider qualification (out of 37 entrants), Takashi then joined the top 14 Japanese riders who entered the main contest with the top pros, where he qualified in the top eight in the Semi-Finals. Then he battled and barged all the way up to 1st place in the Finals!

It's very rare for a Japanese rider to win this event. In fact, he is only the second one who has ever done so! Check out more results and pics.

    RADD

It's cool to see that happen. Home pride abroad rocks, especially when surpassing the likes of Otterstrom & Paavo to get to the finals, then beating out TJ & Hammer for the podium.

    Nihon ganbare!!
