Freestyle.ch in Zurich, Switzerland
Another weekend of Freestyle.ch in Zurich! It was already the 11th annual appearance for the big show spectacle on the Landiwiese, beautifully located right next to the lake. There was plenty of sunshine all weekend long, and about 40,000 spectators in three days. Not too bad, if you ask me. Our Swedish ripper Chris Sörman had to do the Pre-Qualification on Friday, and won it with a beautiful backside 1080.
Wow! Chris was really stoked and happy. On Saturday, he qualified 6th and took part in the cross-over session that was held Saturday night. All five disciplines--Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Freeskiing, BMX, and FMX--competed against each other, and the spectators voted for the winner. This time, the Freestyle.ch champ was Eero Ettala, with his switch double backflip.
On Sunday, it was time for the Finals. Chris had to ride in a head-to-head battle against Antti Autti. He stuck a nice backside 720, but couldn't beat Antti. Finally, Chris got 5th place. Congratualtions, Party Boy!
