Team Report 04-12-05
Spring Madness! Get your speed wax and iron ready, cuz you're going to need it! Here's a quick update on what your favorite ThirtyTwo team riders are up to:

John Jackson managed to empty out his piggy bank to go on a two-week heli trip to Canada with the Standard Film crew. They'll be getting the goods all week, trying to milk the powder shots before the snow turns into slush. Reports have been coming in positive that Canada is finally getting some snow. Wicked, eh? Jackson will be heading back from Canada later this week to join the ThirtyTwo team at the June Mountain team photo shoot scheduled for April 16-20.
Markku Koski made it back into the States after attending a few contests in Scandinavia, most recently the Arctic Challenge. He's ready to slaughter it and get back into filming mode. Markku will join some of his other teammates for the TransWorld Team Challenge this week in Aspen, Colorado. Shortly after that, Markku, along with am riders Stian Solberg and Frederik Austbo, will head to June Mountain to meet up with the rest of the ThirtyTwo crew.
A big shout out goes out to birthday boy Tyler Lepore! Happy birthday, Ty! You better not hide out again this year! Ty's notorious for disappearing on his birthday, for some odd reason. Hopefully, he's having fun doing what he does best, whatever that means. Anyways, Tyler will be attending the Team Challenge this week with the rest of his comrades at Capita Snowboards. Maybe he'll get another cover shot?
Benji Ritchie is up in Alaska with the White Out crew, getting the last bit of powder before it turns into one big, warm slush puppy. He'll be trying to wrap up his powder shots this week and then head to Whistler to get some more backcountry shots before it's time for park kickers.
B-team rider Corey Smith just showcased some of his artwork at a Costa Mesa, California Active Ride Shop this past weekend. The acclaimed artist/snow slasher was seen mingling at the opening, just before bouncing back to Tahoe the next day to get his shred on, since they just received a few more flurries. Corey plans to head to Aspen for the Team Challenge and then join the rest of the ThirtyTwo crew at June to get his jib on.
Janna Meyen was last seen in Bend, Oregon, concentrating on filming and shooting photos. She's excited to meet up with the rest of the ThirtyTwo crew at June Mountain later this week for the team photo shoot.
Alexis Waite and Leanne Pelosi will be returning from their Euro tour this week. Alexis recently placed 3rd at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Europe. Congratulations, Lex! The girls will compete at the Nikita Chikita Showdown later this week at Northstar in Tahoe, California. Shortly after the contest, they'll drive down to June Mountain for the ThirtyTwo team photo shoot.
Wille Yli-Luoma finally got settled into his new apartment. After several months of negotiating, he finally got the keys to his own studio loft in downtown Portland. Wille's excited to be in the States more often so he can concentrate on filming and be more involved with his sponsors. He felt Portland was a good middle ground for all of his travels, as well as access to the backcountry. He's got his truck, snowmobile and electronic gadgets to keep him going for the next year or two. Good work, Wille! Look out for more details on Wille's session at High Cascade Snowboard Camp this Summer.
Later this week, the ThirtyTwo crew will be heading up to Mammoth / June Mountain to get ready for the team photo shoot. This will be an exclusive photo shoot for the team. The unbound snow park crew will be cutting the pipe at June Mountain, as well as building a few jumps.
